SHIFT + pad 13 opens the UTILITY MENU; SYSTEM settings are in tabs chosen with CTRL 3, edited with VALUE.

SYSTEM > FileSystem: "Latin1" recognises letters, numbers and symbols only, so files with double-byte characters in their names can't be recognised; "Multi-Byte" recognises them but shows them garbled. Restart the unit after changing it.
