Effects
Bus FX, MFX, input FX, the knobs and buttons around the screen.
Bus FX basics
The six effect buttons and CTRL 1–CTRL 3 control BUS 1 and BUS 2. BUS FX picks the bus: lit orange = BUS 1, blinking orange = BUS 2.

FILTER+DRIVE, RESONATOR, DELAY, ISOLATOR, DJFX LOOPER and MFX toggle an effect on the selected bus; pressing a lit or blinking button turns it off.

CTRL 1–CTRL 3 edit the main parameters; hold VALUE and turn them for the sub-parameters.

Each bus runs one effect at a time; setting the same effect on both buses shows "Same EFX on other BUS".

Effect grab: hold VALUE and press an effect button; the effect is on only while the button is held.

REMAIN + an effect button keeps the effect edit screen from timing out; VALUE flips between main and sub-parameters, EXIT or REMAIN leaves.

Saving and shared parameters
The main parameters of BUS 1 and BUS 2 are kept after power-off only if you hold SHIFT and hold MARK for at least three seconds; sub-parameters are kept automatically.

Sub-parameters are shared between INPUT FX, BUS 1 and BUS 2 (and between BUS 3 and BUS 4): the same effect in two places shares its settings.

Choosing effects (MFX and DIRECT FX)
Hold MFX and turn VALUE or CTRL 3 (or press pads 1–16) to choose any effect, then release. MFX + DJFX LOOPER reaches #17 and up, MFX + ISOLATOR #33 and up.

DIRECT FX changes what the five effect buttons hold: SHIFT + pad 13 > EFX SET > DIRECT (Direct FX1–5 = FILTER+DRIVE … DJFX LOOPER).

Sending pads to buses
Hold REMAIN: pads show their bus (factory colours orange = BUS 1, green = BUS 2, white = DRY). Pressing a pad while holding REMAIN toggles it between the bus selected with BUS FX and DRY (no BUS 1/2 effects).

REMAIN + a bank button sets the bus for a whole bank; REMAIN + EXT SOURCE sets it for the external inputs.

Delay and keeping tails
There is no tails/spillover setting in the manual: switching a delay off with its button cuts the repeats.

Ko-Da-Ma has TIME, FEEDBACK and SEND ("the volume of sound sent to the effect"), plus L/H DAMP F and MODE (SINGLE/PAN). Sync Delay, Tape Echo and TimeCtrlDly have LEVEL (the volume of the effect sound) instead of SEND.

To keep a delay tail, turn Ko-Da-Ma's SEND down instead of switching the effect off, so existing repeats fade at the FEEDBACK setting. Assign Ko-Da-Ma to DELAY with DIRECT FX for one-button access.

Another way to keep a tail: leave the delay on and move pads to DRY with REMAIN + pad, so they stop feeding it.

FEEDBACK close to 99% can build into runaway feedback.

MUTE BUS
SHIFT + BUS FX (MUTE BUS) mutes the input to the bus so only the reverb or delay tail is heard; pressing it again lets the sound back in and turns the bus effect off at the same time.

EFX SET > OTHER > Mute Bus sets its scope: ALL (BUS 1 and BUS 2) or BUS (only the bus selected with BUS FX).

Routing, BUS 3/4 and side chain
EFX SET opens with SHIFT + pad 16 (or SHIFT + pad 13 > EFX SET); CTRL 3 picks the tab (FAVORITE, BUS 3, BUS 4, SIDE CHAIN, DIRECT, OTHER).

On the FAVORITE tab, pressing VALUE switches BUS 1/2 routing between TYPE A (serial, BUS 1 into BUS 2) and TYPE B (parallel).

BUS 3 and BUS 4 sit after BUS 1/2 as master effects; their effects are stored in FAVORITE 1–16 (Bypass disables them), independent of the project. VALUE + BUS FX bypasses them without changing the FAVORITE.

EFX SET > OTHER > DRY Routing = "BUS3" sends the DRY bus through BUS 3 and BUS 4; "DRY" keeps it effect-free.

SIDE CHAIN: SOURCE is the bus that triggers compression (e.g. the kick's bus), TARGET the bus that ducks; adjust THRESHOLD, RATIO, RELEASE and GAIN.

Input FX
Input FX (EFX SET > OTHER > Input FX) process INPUT and LINE IN; Auto Pitch, Vocoder, Harmony and Gt Amp Sim are available only there. Input Bus sends the input to DRY, BUS 1 or BUS 2.

Effect parameters
Filter+Drive: CUTOFF, RESONANCE, DRIVE; sub FLT TYPE (HPF/LPF), LOW FREQ, LOW GAIN.

Resonator: ROOT, BRIGHT, FEEDBACK; sub CHORD, PANNING, ENV MOD.

Sync Delay: TIME (1/32–1/1, including triplets and dotted), FEEDBACK (0–99%), LEVEL; sub L DAMP F, H DAMP F (cut lows/highs on each repeat).

Isolator: LOW, MID, HIGH, each -INF or -41.87 to +12 dB, so a band can be cut completely.

DJFX Looper: LENGTH, SPEED (-100 to 100: negative plays backwards, 0 stops), LOOP SW.

Tape Echo: TIME (10–800 ms), FEEDBACK, LEVEL; sub MODE (playback head combinations), W/F RATE, W/F DEPTH.

Stopper slows playback like a turntable stopping. Back Spin needs the sample to play (charge) for up to about three seconds first; BACK SW blinks while charging.

Scatter's SCATTER parameter switches the effect on/off; it rearranges a loop in steps for a glitchy, digital groove.

Printing effects
Resample (RESAMPLE) while effects run to record them, including a delay tail, into a new sample.
